Hydrocity Zone
This zone is divisive for more than just its pronunciation. Even going back to its original appearance as the second zone of Sonic 3, the focus on water was a turn-down for many people, leaving a bad taste in the mouth of familiar players hearing that iconic music after the sheer beauty that was Stardust Speedway.
As the game's only water focused zone, they made sure to include lots of references to water related zones from past games. For better or for worse. I can't imagine many people were happy about being reminded of Labyrinth Zone, hehe. Whether you're celebrating the unique mechanics or dreading the slower pace that the water facilitates, there's not really any way around it, so let's just dive right in.
